MINUTES OF THE MEETING

A General meeting with all the faculties of school was conducted on 18th of August 2021 at the school auditorium, following COVID protocol. Shri Suren Kumar Pradhan, Principal of the school, extended a warm welcome to all the staff members present in the meeting. He also introduced the newly joined teachers and non- teaching staff to the house. He advised them to work in the interest of the school and assured all possible help during their service tenure at the school.

AGENDAS DISCUSSED

1.      DIKSHA ONLINE TRAINING COURSE- It was informed by the principal that under the banner of NISHTA, an initiation of Central Govt. and State Govt. a mandatory online training programme for teachers and school heads has been devised, where the teachers and school heads have to register and undergo three courses per month. The training would be carried out till the month of December 2021. All teachers undergoing the training programme have to obtain a certificate for each course after completion of all modules. For providing assistance and technical support regarding any issues faced by the teachers undergoing DIKSHA training, the house unanimously nominated Shri. H.N. Sharma [PGT- Physics] as school coordinator. Further, it was informed that all teachers dealing with secondary and senior secondary class, the training programme was mandatory and it must be accomplished within the stipulated time frame.

 

2.      SUSWASTHYA YOJNA- A health scheme envisioned and launched by the state Government which aims to provide health care service to the regular employees of the State Government and their dependent would be implemented from the month of September 2021. All regular staff members of the school were advised to register for the scheme as soon as possible and obtain membership card. All issues pertaining to Suswasthya Yojna were discussed openly in the house. Further, it was informed that a maximum of 5 dependents could be added, however, a daughter dependent should be unmarried and a son dependent should not be more than 30 years of age.

 

 

3.      ONLINE CLASSES- It is evident that due to the outbreak of covid- 19 pandemic and ongoing lock down, the students are unable to relish formal class in the school. Under such scenario, online class has become the only means to impart scholastic proficiency to the students. As such, all teachers were directed to play a pivotal role and use innovative mechanism to make online teaching more effective. Teachers were requested to see that maximum number of students attend online class. It was made mandatory for all teachers to submit a report (twice a month) to the office mentioning the status of syllabus coverage in all subjects. All class teachers were further directed to submit a report regarding the classes that has been conducted in all subject of a particular class. If situation demands, the teachers were requested to make home visit of those students who are unable to access online mode of class. Moreover, maintenance of lesson diary and submission of lesson coverage report were mandatory for all teaching faculties.

 

4.      COVID STATUS- A report on teachers who have completed 2nd Dose of vaccination and 1st Dose of vaccination were to be compiled by the office for submitting to concerned authority. Likewise, list of students who have been vaccinated were also required to be compiled for further submission.

 

5.      CBSE (SPECIAL SCHEME & COMPART EXAMINATION). As per the direction and guidelines of CBSE, class IX, X, XI and XII will have two terms of examination in this academic session. The 1st term examination is scheduled to be held in the month of November 2021 and the 2nd Term examination would be scheduled in the month of March- April 2022. Prescribed syllabus issued by CBSE was handed over to the concerned teacher during the meeting. It was informed that a total of 7 students “comparted” in this year’s class X board examination. The board has already issued date sheet for compartment examination. As per the data, the compartment examination would commence from 25th of August 2021 to 8th of September 2021. However, the office has not received any information regarding the center of examination hitherto.

 

6.      CLASS XI ADMISSION FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2021-2021.

 

i.                    Like previous year, this year too, online mode of application for admission in class XI has been devised by education department, Govt. of Sikkim. Only those students whose name has been enrolled in online portal would be permissible for admission in class XI. As of now the status of registration for admission in this school are as follows

iii.                ADMISSION IN SCIENCE STREAM

Like previous years, admission in science stream would be limited to 40 seats. Though, as of now, a total of 65 students have applied for science stream but, as per the norms of the school, all students have to undergo offline entrance test, only 40 students whose name would feature in the merit list would be permissible for admission in science stream.

iv.                The house unanimously decided to follow the previous prescribed set of admission fee structure for admission in class XI. i.e. Rs. 1100/- for non- local. However, a slight modification for the fee structure of local students has been devised. A sum of Rs. 250/- has to be charged to the local students as SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT FEE. Furthermore, the money generated form the school development fee would be used for the much needed stage maintenance.

 

8.      CELEBRATION OF TEACHER’S DAY- The house unanimously decided to celebrate the forthcoming Teacher’s Day keeping in mind the guidelines of covid protocol. Inauguration of the statue of Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan and statue installation of Goddess Saraswati (Donated by Retd. Teacher Shri. Prem Pradhan) would be incorporated as an additional programme on the said day.

 

9.      MISCELLANEOUS WORKS UNDERTAKEN- In addition to the above mentioned agendas, the principal informed the house about various works that had been undertaken in the school during the lock down period. Furthermore, he also informed that the school has been fortunate to receive many support from various sources and generous people who have contributed for the welfare of he school. On behalf of the school family he extended a deep gratitude to the following departments, institutions and stakeholders for their generous support towards the school.

 

i.                    Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim- a long pending electricity bill of worth Rs.38,000/- (Rupees Thirty Eight Thousand) has been paid in favour of the school.

ii.                  Aritar GPU (panchayat members) - for donating computer set.

iii.                MGNREGA- for the relentless work of cleaning the school campus.

iv.                Shri. DP Sharma (Sir)- For donating Rs 15,000/- for construction of Mid- Day- Meal

 

10.  TV DISTRIBUTION- Smart Televison with dish antenna and other accessories was distributed to the Students of class IX and X of Rhenock Sr. Sec. School. However, the school had no role to play in the distribution process as no specific circular or guidelines were issued to the school pertaining to the eligibility of students.
